Well, certainly the greatest failure of this nation is the cancellation of the United States Manned Space Flight Space Shuttle Program. Yea, I know these guys are getting old. In a vocation where hardware is disposable, the shuttles are certified grumpy old codgers.  We can attribute a lot of our societies achievements to the manned space flight program and many of the gadgets that we take for granted spawned in some back room at NASA.  Now that we have no transportation into space until NASA gets done re-engineering the stuff from the 60′s, we have hit a shameful low as a nation.
