Started after the night airshow at Oshkosh 2010, AirplanePorn.com is aviation without all the boring stuffy stuff. It;s also a place to showcase spectacular aviation photography and also how to take great aviation pictures.  AirplanePorn.com offers satire, movie reviews, product reviews and interviews with cool and interesting aviation folks.

The Long Version – All The Dirty Details

This site is something truly different.  This is “Aviation’s Dirty Little Secret”.   Aviation without all the boring stuffy stuff, I promise.  Fun and entertaining. Edgy yet classy.

The name started out at the end of Oshkosh 2010. Well, sloshkosh, or spashkosh as some remeber it, as it got started with record rainfalls right before opening day.  ”No wake zone” signs were seen in the vintage area, and the EAA even got into the act marketing t-shirts later in the week.

Well, as things turned out it was a pretty memorable Oshkosh.  The rest of the week was mostly sunny and a great time was had by all. I was covering the show for Jim at www.aero-news.net and was snapping about 700 pictures a day and getting to meet some really great aviation folks.

As fate would have it the EAA hosted the first night airshow at Oshkosh.  I was snapping pictures and taking video like crazy.  I got some awesome shots of Gene Sousey’s Night Routine with pyrotechnics on the wingtips with the SkyCrane helicopter in the foreground.

Back at the Aero-News pad, he and I were comparing our pictures of the night spectacular.  Someone mentioned that “this is like looking at airplane porn!”, and the rest is history.  My reply, “oh that’s perfect! I wonder if anyone has that domain?”

Minutes later I was the proud new owner of AirplanePorn.com, and promised big (little) royalty checks later down the road to the staff.

So there you have it.

Our proud, but short history.  I plan on making this site the place to go for aviation entertainment, wicked awesome pictures, sounds and videos of all things aviation.
